Don’t love her

By  | September 11, 2011 | Filed under: Poetry

Don’t love her ‘cos she’s beautiful or isn’t very fat,
don’t love her ‘cos she’s nice to me, it isn’t ‘cos of that

Don’t love her because she smiles a lot, or cuddles close in bed,
don’t love her ‘cos she isn’t hard, she’s soft and warm instead.

I love her ‘cos for however brief she’s made me feel again,
and I love her ‘cos she found my heart and took away the pain.

Yes…I love her because she made me real and now I really know,
I can reassess my life from now, and really start to grow.
